Welcome to WICF!

Want to get involved in making chess a safer place?

Look through or programs below and find the way you want to get involved!

Make a donation.

By donating to our organization you are supporting young women in chess and providing them with coaching through our WICF-Chessable Scholars Program or supporting someone who might want to become an Advocate but doesn’t have the financial means. Your donation will go towards the administration of our ourganization, promoting gender equity and preventing instances of harassment or discrimination in chess. Beyond that, your contribution will support initiatives aimed at ensuring all players feel welcome and respected in the chess community.

The Advocates Initiative

Our advocates initiative aims to provide independent advocates at chess tournaments to create a safer environment and support any players who may need it. These advocates are trained to identify and respond to potential safety issues, as well as provide emotional support and resources to players who may be experiencing harassment, discrimination, or other forms of mistreatment. By having advocates on-site, we hope to foster a more inclusive and supportive community for all players, and promote the values of respect and fair play in the game of chess.

WICF Safe Play Policy Program

Does your tournament, club or federation have the policies in place to protect those who attend your events? Work with the Women in Chess Foundation to receive the WICF SafePolicy Badge.

The Women in Chess Foundation SafePolicy Badge is a mark of distinction for any chess event or organisation. This certificate serves as a testament to your commitment to prioritising safety, inclusion, and fair play. It's not just a symbol; it's a promise to your participants and stakeholders
